Bollywood actress and model Mamta Kulkarni recently returned to India after 25 years following a clean chit in a Rs 2,000-crore drug trafficking case that emerged in 2016. Fans have since begun speculating that the actress might be planning for a grand Bollywood comeback, with many anticipating her return to the big screen soon.

However, Mamta denied the rumours and stated that she has no plans of making an acting comeback, nor is she participating in Bigg Boss. “I was outside India for 25 years; I was searching for myself. Now, Kumbh Mela is about to happen, so I have come here but I am not going to go back to the film industry. I am happy with my life,” she told News 18.

Futher, Kulkarni revealed that when she left India in 2000, she was at the peak of her career with 43 film offers. “I left all this and now I don’t want to come back to films,” she concluded.

After returning to India, Mamta shared a video on her Instagram handle, where she was seen getting emotional. She was heard saying, “Hey guys, this is Mamta Kulkarni. I just returned to India, Bombay, ‘Aamchi Mumbai’ after 25 years. I’m really nostalgic that I went out of India in 2000, and exactly in 2024, I’m here. I’m really overwhelmed and emotional; I don’t know how to express it.”

“Before the flight landed, I was looking at my left-right. I saw my country from the top for almost 25 years. I became emotional; I had tears in my eyes. I put my foot down out of the Mumbai International Airport, and I became extremely overwhelmed,” she added.

Meanwhile, Kulkarni’s 1995 film Karan Arjun was recently re-released in theatres on November 22, 2024.

The film starred Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Raakhee Gulzar, Kajol, Amrish Puri, Johnny Lever, Ranjeet and Aasif Sheikh, among others.
