Reasons for women not breaking coconuts: There is a tradition of breaking coconut during any auspicious event in Hindu religion. Cracking a coconut is seen as an auspicious sign. Men, on the other hand, are often seen cracking coconuts.

According to folk beliefs, plucking coconut is considered inauspicious for women.

According to religious beliefs coconut (importance of coconut in worship) is not only a sacred object but it is also known as a seed. In Hindu religion, the seed is considered like a child. A mother loves her child very much and can never hurt him in any way.

Similarly, it is also believed that breaking a coconut in the form of seeds is equivalent to causing pain to the child. In such a situation, breaking coconut by women is considered to cause pain to the child. For this reason women are prohibited from plucking coconuts.

Apart from this, it is also believed that when women break coconuts, their children are surrounded by troubles. A child’s life is full of troubles and his life is full of sufferings. There are also obstacles in the child’s success.

However, an argument arises from this point and that is if the coconut is a seed and the seed is considered to be similar to a child (lesson for child development). So in this sense, is men breaking coconuts a sign that the father has no love for his child?

A father loves his child as much as a mother does. The only difference is that mother knows how to express love and father is a little crude in expressing emotions. But this does not mean that a father does not love his child.

In such a situation, the logic behind women breaking coconuts is a bit strange. Although this logic is described in the scriptures, there is no concrete evidence for it. But it can be understood as a folk tale.
