Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Many irregularities have cropped up in the tender for Van Vihar Wild Café. Conditions of the tender were violated by putting new rules to assign work to the firm which has been running it for several years. Afterwards, an agreement was signed with the company which quoted higher rates, and its money was deposited. Since the chosen company did not get the work, the tender was cancelled. But it was said that the company which has been running the café would continue to do so, until a new tender is floated.

According to sources, the firm that quoted higher rates and got the tender complained to the Chief Secretary. Meanwhile, a notice has been issued to the Van Vihar Director. In the tender floated for running the Wild Café, it was mentioned that the firm which has been running the café at higher rates would be given priority. If the firm refuses to do the work, there will be an agreement with the company that quoted the higher rates. In this way, efforts were made to change the tender into a renewal document by introducing such conditions to the tender.

After the forest officers’ game to turn the tender into a renewal of document fell through, the tender was cancelled so that the same firm that has been running the café may continue the work. According to sources, Daulatram Engineering Services Private Limited is running the Wild Café. New tender was floated on December 12 last year. When financial bid was opened on January 15, Shiv Shakti Dal Mill got the tender by quoting higher rates.

An agreement was inked with Shiv Shakti Dal Mill on January 28 to run the café. After the agreement, when there was pressure on the Van Vihar management, the firm that got the tender was told that if the company that had been doing the work refused to do so, another company would be handed over the operation of Wildlife Café.

As error crept into tender, it was cancelled: PCCF wildlife

PCCF wildlife Shubranjan Sen has said that an error had crept into the tender issued for Wildlife Café. Such a condition should not have been put in the tender, Sen said, adding that since there was an agreement with a new company to run the café, a strange situation has cropped up. The tender has been cancelled, and an order issued to float a new tender, he said.
