According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of rain, thunderstorms and lightning in Kolkata till 22 March due to the anticlonic circulation and trough made in the Bay of Bengal. IMD has issued an orange alert for several parts of West Bengal from 20 to 22 March, which also poses a threat to the match being canceled.
