Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 will start from today. The opening match will be between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). The tournament will be played for 65 days and will have a total of 74 matches. The IPL 2024 title was won by Kolkata Knight Riders by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The most frequently won teams include Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. Both have won the title 5-5 times.

The IPL 2025 season will start from 22 March i.e. today, while the final will be held on 25 May. This time the playoff matches of the tournament will be held in Hyderabad and Kolkata. Qualifier-2 and final matches will also be held at this ground. While qualifier-1 and eliminator matches will be held in Hyderabad. The inaugural match of the IPL 2025 season will be played between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). The match will be held at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Like last time, 10 teams will participate in IPL this time too. A total of 74 matches will be played between these teams in 65 days, including the final. All these matches will be held at 13 places in India. 62 matches of IPL will be played in the evening. While there will be 12 matches in the afternoon. These matches will be played from 3.30 pm Indian time. While the evening matches will start at 7.30 pm.

 

This time there will be a total of 12 double header matches in the IPL 2025 season. All these double headers will be on Saturday and Sunday. Double header in IPL means two matches a day. Fans get a double dose of enthusiasm on the day of double header.

The inaugural match of IPL 2025 will be held on Saturday (March 22). The first double header will be seen on the next day, Sunday. Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will compete with Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the afternoon. Whereas in the evening, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will compete with Mumbai Indians (MI).
