The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that the remaining sixteen matches will be held in three places – Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad. The BCCI has not yet given any official information in this regard.
There are 12 league matches left in the competition, after which four playoff matches will be played. Initially it was decided that the first qualifier and eliminator match would be played in Hyderabad, while the second qualifier and the final match would be played in Kolkata.
The franchisees hope that most of the foreign players will return when the competition resumes by the end of May, but there is no guarantee that this time limit will be extended from May 25. Actually, the final match of IPL 2025 was to be played in Kolkata on 25 May. Many foreign players want to play bilateral series after 25 May.
Not only this, the final match of the World Test Championship (WTC) will be played between Australia and South Africa at Lord’s from 11 June. A total of 57 matches were completed in IPL 2025. The 58th match played between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) on 8 May at Dharamshala was canceled after 10.1 overs.
