IPL 2025: Mumbai Indians star batsman Suryakumar Yadav said that he was ignored for the Indian team’s tour to Australia inspired him to play one of his most memorable innings in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Suryakumar then scored an unbeaten 79 off 43 balls to win Mumbai Indians by five wickets against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Abu Dhabi, one of his most memorable innings in the IPL. However, it was a league match of IPL 2020. In this match, there were some stressful moments on the ground between him and the then RCB and India captain Virat Kohli.

Kohli did not say much, he just raised the ball and the striker moved towards the end where Surya Kumar was batting. The Mumbai Indians batsman said in the ‘Suryakumar Yadav Experience Show’ on Jio Hotstar that it was an emotional innings as the team was announced for the tour of Australia a few days ago. Now the Indian team’s T20 captain Suryakumar said that he is keen to go to Australia. He said that he was preparing for this tour for the last few years.

My domestic season and IPL are going well.

My domestic season and IPL were going well. I prepared myself very well for this session. Even during the Kovid holiday, I was taking time out to work on my body and mental health. I expected to get a place in the T20 team. Suryakumar further said that everyone around me was thinking that I would go to Australia, including some fellow players from other countries. I was already mentally prepared for that flight, but I was shocked when I was not selected. I did not realize what I did wrong.

Suryakumar Yadav said that I kept thinking for the next two-three days, I did not talk to anyone. Then I took the break and did not even practice. I decided to ‘rest’. Mahela Jayawardene and Zaheer Khan were able to experience all this on the ground. Suryakumar revealed that his partner Kieron Pollard inspired him and said it was the right platform to prove himself.
