The IPL franchise Delhi Capitals have finally finished the long wait of the fans, where it has announced its captain for this IPL season. The franchise has appointed star all-rounder Akshar Patel as the new captain of the team, who was also the vice-captain of the team in the previous season.
Akshar has been with the Delhi team since 2019, which has not yet won a single IPL title like Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings. Akshar was bought by Delhi for one lakh rupees in the mega auction held last year. Its price was retained at Rs 18 crore. Looking at his career, he has so far scored 1653 runs in 150 matches at an average of 21.47 and a strike rate of 130.88. During this, three half -centuries came out of his bat.

The first match of Delhi Capitals in IPL 2025 will be against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam on 24 March. The team has to organize a three -day training camp in New Delhi this week before leaving for Visakhapatnam on 17 March.
