The Jamnalal Bajaj Foundation in a span of over 46 years has been respected as a Gandhian establishment in areas of developing the socio-economic arena in our country. It strives to serve the ideals of Jamnalal Bajaj and promotes Gandhian constructive activities in India and abroad. Jamnalal Bajaj was adopted by Mahatma Gandhi as his fifth son and was the alter ego of the Mahatma so far as the Gandhian Constructive Movement was concerned.
The Foundation has instituted four awards which are given annually to recognize, honour and encourage the outstanding contribution of selfless people towards the uplift and development of the society, rural community and the nation, at large. There are three National Awards, and one International Award as listed below:
1. National: Constructive Work in Rural India
2. National: Application of Science and Technology for Rural Development
3. National: Development and Welfare of Women and Children (exclusively for women candidates – instituted in the memory of Padma Vibhushan Jankidevi Bajaj, wife of Jamnalal Bajaj.)
4. International: International Award for Promoting Gandhian Values Outside India (Presented to a foreign citizen)
Each award carries a Citation, a Trophy and a Cash Prize of Rs. 20,00,000/- (for the International Award, the Cash Prize is presented in equivalent foreign exchange).
The Foundation continues to work towards propagating Gandhian values and Shri Jamnalal Bajaj’s ideologies. The awards for Constructive Work and Application of Science and Technology for Rural Development, instituted in 1978, and Development and Welfare of Women and Children, introduced in 1980 in the memory of Padma Vibhushan Smt. Jankidevi Bajaj, wife of Shri Jamnalal Bajaj, are given to Indian nationals. The International Award, instituted in 1988 in commemoration of the birth centennial of Shri Jamnalal Bajaj, is presented to an individual with foreign nationality for Promoting Gandhian Values Outside India.
Nominations are invited for the 47th Jamnalal Bajaj Awards for 2025 Jamnalal Bajaj Foundation has commenced inviting nominations for the 47th Jamnalal Bajaj Awards 2025. If there is/are any individual/s you are aware of who have carried out exemplary work based on Gandhian values, in any of the above noted four categories, kindly apprise them about the Jamnalal Bajaj Foundation Awards.

Last date for receiving nominations is 31st January, 2025 for the three National Awards and one International Award.
