Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Talks are being held to carry out the investment proposals inked at the two-day Global Investors Summit (GIS) that concluded in Bhopal on Tuesday.
At the GIS organised in Indore two years ago, the investment proposals worth Rs 15.42 lakh crore were received, but the proposals of Rs 1.95 lakh crore could be implemented. This time, the government claimed to have received investment proposals worth Rs 30.77 lakh crore at Regional Industries Conclave, interactive sessions, and GIS. The main challenge before the government is to translate these investment proposals into reality.
The government has to give some work – for which proposals have been received at the GIS – through tenders. NHAI, renewal energy, mining and urban development are some of the works that the government has to give through tenders.
The government has to make efforts to get funds for these projects, and tenders are issued as quickly as possible.
According to sources, Chief Secretary Anurag Jain has been given the responsibility to implement the business proposals received at the GIS. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has advised Jain to work fast on the investment proposals related to every department.
Urban Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya also said implementing the proposals would be the bureaucracy’s responsibility. Yadav may discuss with the officers the proposals received at the GIS.
Officers to get responsibility for big proposals
The government is preparing for handing over the responsibility to deal with the investment proposals to the officers. The government may deploy one officer for each company for the big proposals. The officers may be sent to different companies in connection with the proposals for various departments.
At the valedictory function of GIS, Chief Secretary Anurag Jain said heads of all departments would review progress of the proposals every week. The government is also mulling over setting up a committee to handle this issue.
