Investment in mutual funds in March 2025: Investment of Rs 25,926 crore from SIP, positive trends in equity funds

According to the latest data from the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI), last month, an investment of Rs 25,926 crore was made through the Systematic Investment Plan (SIP). Although this is slightly lower than in February 2025, this figure reflects investors’ long -term thinking and confidence in disciplined investment.

In March, an investment of Rs 25,926 crore was made through SIP, compared to Rs 25,999 crore in February. Although this is the lowest level of four months, it indicates that investors regularly maintain their participation in the market.

A total of Rs 25,082 crore investment in equity mutual funds

In March 2025, Equity Mutual Funds had a net inflow of Rs 25,082 crore, which is less than Rs 29,303 crore in February 2025.

Investment in different categories was as follows:

  • Smallcap funds: Rs 4,092 crore in March (3,722 crore in February)
  • Midcap funds: 3,438 crore rupees (3,407 crore in February)
  • Largecap funds: Rs 2,479 crore (2,866 crore in February)
  • Large and midcap funds: 2,718 crore rupees (2,656 crore in February)
  • Flexi cap funds: 5,615 crore inflow, which was the highest (Rs 5,104 crore in February)

Overall, the investment in all 11 equity categories was positive, which reflects the trust of investors despite the upsurge in the market.

Heavy withdrawal in date funds

Although investment in equity funds has increased, a huge outflow of Rs 2.02 lakh crore has been seen from date mutual funds. This is many times more than the Rs 6,525 crore in February.

Total assets lead in under management

Due to increasing investment in equity funds, the total assets of India’s Mutual Fund industry have increased by 1.87 percent to Rs 65.74 lakh crore. At the same time, the AUM of equity funds has increased by 7.6 percent to Rs 29.5 lakh crore in March.
