The second Day of the boxing day test between India and Australia witnessed a huge mixup between Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal resulting in the opener (Jaiswal) missing out on century.
The incident happened on the last ball of the 41st over during India’s first innings. Scott Boland bowled a full delivery, attacking the stumps as Yashasvi Jaiswal got on the front foot and flicked it straight to mid-on. Jaiswal looked eager for a single and on seeing Virat Kohli take a few steps forward, rushed towards the other end.
Kohli though had turned around and was caught ball-watching. Cummins at mid-on, picked up the ball and threw the ball at the striker’s end. Jaiswal had almost reached the non-striker’s end but saw Kohli was back behind his crease. The young batter did not have any to retreat back and found himself stranded as Aussie keeper Alex Carey collected the ball and dislodged the bails.
