INS Tamal: India will get the second most powerful warship in Russia, INS Tamal, Navy’s strength will increase

News India Live, Digital Desk: Ins Tamal: The strength of the Indian Navy is going to increase a major increase amid the increasing tension between India and Pakistan. Russia-made Multi-Rol Warship INS Tamal will soon join the Indian Navy. India will get this warship on 28 May 2025, which will be formally included in the Navy in June. The warship prepared at Russia’s Yanatar Shipyard is part of the 2016 agreement between India and Russia, with a total of four swords to make class warships.

Characteristics of INS Tamal

The modern guided missile stealth frigate INS Tamal is capable of attacking water, air and surface simultaneously. It will be equipped with state-of-the-art BrahMos anti-Ship missiles. Also, multi-roll helicopters can also be deployed on this for monitoring and fighter missions.

  • Capacity: Can cover a distance of 3,000 kilometers at a time.

INS Tamal will be the last imported warship

INS Tamal will be the last warship imported by India. The Indian Navy is emphasizing on design and manufacturing warships indigenously in the future. Talwar class warships have been in the service of the Indian Navy since 2003, and six warships have been included in this category so far. INS Tamal is the second batch of Talwar class warships. Earlier INS Tushil has been included in the Navy.
