Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The injured tiger, which was brought from Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve (BTR) to Van Vihar National Park, is slowly recuperating after undergoing operation recently. The veterinary team of Van Vihar is keeping a close watch on the tiger.  A senior officer of Van Vihar said that the tiger has been kept in an isolated enclosure under intense medical care. It is yet to be known the extent of the healing of the wound.

Notably, in the last week of November, the forest team at Bandhavgarh had spotted the tiger with snare around its neck inflicting a deep wound. Some poachers had laid the wire trap to catch herbivore animals and the tiger got trapped in it. After the trap wire noose tightened, the tiger might have given a strong jerk, breaking the wire line from the trap apparatus. And since then the big cat was roaming with a snare around its neck. The forest team rescued the injured tiger and shifted it to Van Vihar for proper treatment. After some days, the tiger will be tranquilized again to examine the injured area and assess how much the wound has healed.
