Initiatives to Reduce Tension Between India and Pakistan:

India and Pakistan have agreed to increase the ban on all military actions across the border as per the decision taken by the two countries on 10 May. Amid the ongoing tension, the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) of the two countries has decided to continue “trust-making measures”.

Officials said on Thursday, “It has been decided to continue the measures for restoration to reduce the level of vigilance as per the consent between the two DGMOs on May 10, 2025.”

PTI According to the report, Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar claimed that Pakistan’s DGMO Major General Kashif Abdullah and India’s DGMO Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai discussed the ceasefire on Thursday and discussed the ceasefire, which has now been extended till 18 May.

India started operation vermilion on terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir after midnight of 7 May in response to a deadly Pahalgam terror attack.

A day later, tension between the two countries increased further, when Pakistan attacked a drone and missile attacks on military bases near the border, which India thwarted.

After three days of intensive military enmity, On May 10, both countries agreed to stop firing, When Pakistan’s DGMO called its Indian counterpart and asked to stop all types of crossing firing.

However, a few hours later, Pakistan violated the agreement and reports of heavy shelling and firing from the border villages came to light.
