Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In the summer schedule of flights, the city has again got a direct flight to Gondia in Maharashtra. IndiGo, a leading airline of the country, will start a flight for Gondia. Also, now the city-bound flights will operate from the newly built Jewar International Airport in Noida, besides the Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi.

The summer schedule, released by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), will be implemented from the last week of March this year. However, the DGCA released the schedule of the flights on Saturday. As per aviation sources, the DGCA issues flight schedules twice a year for flights operating from all airports in the country.

The summer schedule will start from the end of March and continue till the end of October. The winter schedule runs from October to March end.

On the basis of the proposals received from all the airlines, the DGCA has released the proposed summer schedule in which flights are starting again only for Gondia, which will be the sixth city of Maharashtra to have air connectivity with Indore, besides Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Shirdi and Nashik. It may be pointed out that earlier also, private airline Fly Big had started a flight for Gondia. But later this flight was discontinued.
