Indore, 2 December (HS). In Indore district, the work of making Ayushman cards for seniors above 70 years of age is going on at a fast pace. Collector Ashish Singh on Monday rewarded Asha workers for their remarkable cooperation in making Ayushman cards. Incentive amount was distributed to ASHA workers who did remarkable work. Selected ASHA workers were given an incentive amount of Rs 7 thousand 600.
It is noteworthy that in the district, Collector Ashish Singh had ordered to give incentive amount to the ASHA workers who make Ayushman cards for citizens above 70 years of age. Red Cross Society gave incentive checks at the rate of Rs 10 per card to the Asha workers who made the maximum number of Ayushman cards in the district. It was told that till now 210 Ayushman cards have been made by Asha worker Seema Ahirwar development block Manpur. He was given a check of Rs 2100. In this sequence, a check of Rs 1800 was given to ASHA worker Lankavati Darade, Rs 1000 to Narmada Joshi, Rs 900 to Preeti Pandey, Rs 900 to Bharti Verma and Rs 900 to Seema Ingle.
Collector Ashish Singh told the Asha workers that this is a recognition of your efforts, which will inspire other Asha workers of the district to make more and more Ayushman cards. In the past too, Indore has secured first position in the state by making the maximum number of Ayushman cards. It is expected from you that Indore will repeat its history by making maximum number of Ayushman cards for senior citizens also.
By expanding Ayushman Bharat Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM JAY), it has been ensured to provide health protection cover of up to Rs 5 lakh per year to senior citizens aged 70 years and above. The scheme aims to provide quality and accessible healthcare services to senior citizens to help them live a healthy and dignified life while freeing them from financial worries. Important components of the scheme The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved providing health coverage to all senior citizens aged 70 years and above, regardless of their income, under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM JAY). Has been given and the scheme has been launched on 29 October 2024. Eligibility for the scheme will be determined only on the basis of age recorded in the Aadhaar card, and Aadhaar card and Samagra Family ID will be required for registration. A new unique card is being issued under AB PM JAY to eligible senior citizens. Senior citizens who are 70 years of age and above and whose families are already covered under AB PM-JAY will get an additional annual top-up coverage of up to ₹5 lakh for themselves, which they can extend to other members of their family ( Who is under 70 years of age). All other senior citizens aged 70 years and above will get annual coverage up to Rs 25 lakh on a family basis. Senior citizens who are 70 years of age and above and covered under Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS). Ex-servicemen availing benefits of other public health insurance schemes like Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), Ayushman Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) can choose between their existing scheme or AB PM-JAY, but the scheme selection The option to do so will be given only once.
It has been clarified that senior citizens aged 70 years and above who are covered under private health insurance schemes or Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) scheme will also be eligible to avail benefits under AB PM-JAY.
