Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Objection against an eve-teasing incident turned violent at Indore’s famous Sarafa Bazaar on Saturday night, causing serious injuries to a young woman’s face.
A video of the incident has surfaced on social media on Monday morning, which has gone viral.
According to information, a young woman was harassed at Sarafa market on Saturday night. The victim, a resident of Sadhu Vaswani Nagar, had come to Sarafa with her sister and friends. This is when a man misbehaved with her.
Accused pulled victim’s hair
He tried to touch her inappropriately. When she resisted, the man made vulgar comments, the victim said.
As she confronted him, the accused started abusing her. Soon, his friends joined him, and started to assault the victim.
The accused even pulled the woman’s hair and attacked her. When her sister and a male friend tried to intervene, they were also beaten up.
The shocking part is that this happened in a crowded area, but the attackers did not hesitate.
Police examine CCTV
Shopkeepers and bystanders finally stepped in and separated them. The accused then fled the scene. The young woman suffered severe injuries to her face.
A case has been registered at the Sarafa police station under molestation charges, and the police are investigating the matter. CCTV footage is being examined to identify the attackers.
