Indore (Madhya Pradesh): While it approved the construction of 23 roads across the city with a budget of Rs 450 crore, Mayor-in-Council vetted a proposal seeking government funding for constructing 14 new roads under Indore Development Plan 2021, at an estimated cost of Rs 400 crore.
Approval was also given for disposing of animal carcasses at Devguradia Trenching Ground using incinerators to ensure minimal environmental impact. These were among several proposals aimed at improving infrastructure, cleanliness and sustainability in the city which were given the nod during the MiC meeting, chaired by Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav on Tuesday.
The meeting was attended by municipal commissioner Shivam Verma, council members, department heads and officials.
Road Infrastructure Development
After inviting tenders, the MiC approved construction of 23 roads including Bhagirathpura main road (From MR 4 to culvert), from Jinsi square to Laxmibai statue, Kila Maidan Road from Gutekeshwar Mahadev temple to Sadar Bazaar, Kandilpura Road from Subhash Marg to Indore Wire square, Nemi Nath square to Jinsi square, Link Road connecting Airport Road to MR 5, Bhamori square to MR 10 and Rajshahi Garden to Hotel Wow, MR 9 via Malviya Nagar lane number 2, LIG ??link road
Besides, the road construction from Sanwer Road Petrol Pump to Shivshakti Nagar Hanuman temple, from Veer Savarkar statue to Atal Gate, AB Road from GPO square to Sarvate bus stand, Nehru statue Madhumilan square to Cantonment bridge, Subhash Marg from Gol Mandir to Rambagh bridge, Machhi Bazaar square to Chandrabhaga bridge, service road on both sides from Musakhedi square to Sanwariya Dham temple.
Likewise, the road construction Zamzam square to Star square, Ring Road road from Khajrana temple gate to Zamzam square, from MR 5 Bada Bangadda to PMAY multi, link road from TCS to MR 5, from Advance Academy to Ring Road, link road connecting MR 10 to MR 12 and Hotel Pride to City Forest. These roads are expected to provide durable infrastructure for the next 20-25 years.
14 new roads
A proposal was also approved to seek government funding for constructing 14 new roads under Indore Development Plan 2021, with an estimated cost of Rs 400 crore.
The proposed roads include MR 5 from Indore Wire to Bada Bangadda, Palda Tiraha Nemawar Road to RE 2 ISBT, New Race Course from Ring Road to Nariman Point, Baba Shri Resort Chota Bangadda to Super Corridor, Chandrabhaga to Kalalakui Mosque, MR 9 ITI Square to MR 10 Chandragupta Maurya Square, Palda Industries Area RE 2 to Bypass, Dhar Road from Chandan Nagar Square to Airport Road, Ring Road to Annapurna Road, MR 9 to Robot Square to Bypass and Anup Talkies, AB Road from Talavli Chanda to Bypass Arandia, Bijli Nagar to Kanadia Road, ITI Square to Khatipura ROB, MR 6 Road from Eastern Ring Road to Samajwadi Indira Nagar.
In-principle approval was given to the proposal to send the DPR to the government for road construction work.
Swachh Bharat Mission Initiatives
–Several projects under the Swachh Bharat Mission received approval: –Expansion of Asia’s largest Bio-CNG Plant at Devguradia from 500 TDP to 800 TDP.
–Procurement of road sweeping machines for enhanced cleaning of main roads and public spaces.
–Construction of a new garbage transfer station and purchase of 100 electric garbage tipper vehicles.
–Disposing of dead animal carcasses at Devguradia Trenching Ground using incineration technology, ensuring minimal environmental impact.
Other Approvals
Inspired by the Eurasia Garden, the council approved the development of similar gardens in all 22 city zones. These green spaces aim to enhance urban biodiversity and provide recreational areas for residents.
The council greenlit a pilot project to transform one municipal zone into self-reliant wards. This initiative, supported through CSR funding, focuses on sustainability and local resource management.
Strict action against unauthorized commercial use of private tube wells.
Construction of new RCC roads and high-level water tanks in Assembly constituency 5, with a budget of ?18.82 crores.
Permission for the Shri Sai Baba Mandir Sansthan Trust to build a condolence meeting hall at Panchkuiy Muktidham.
