Indore Municipal Corporation Cash Counters To Remain Open On February 23 | File Image

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) has provided a golden opportunity for water taxpayers to settle their dues under the One-Time Settlement (OTS) Scheme, which will end on Tuesday (Feb 25). After this, the corporation will take strict action against defaulters who will have to pay heavy taxes.

Under this scheme, taxpayers can clear 50% of their outstanding water tax (until the financial year 2022-23), while the remaining 50% will be waived, ensuring their accounts are regularised.

To facilitate taxpayers, all cash counters of the corporation will remain open on Sunday, despite it being a holiday, allowing citizens to take advantage of the scheme conveniently.

Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav urged residents to make the most of this opportunity and settle their dues before the deadline. He also warned that strict legal action, including property seizures, will be taken against defaulters after February 25.

Commissioner Shivam Verma has directed all zonal and revenue officers to ensure widespread awareness of the scheme and provide necessary amenities like drinking water and seating arrangements at tax collection centres. Citizens are encouraged to utilise this last chance to clear their dues and avoid penalties, as no extensions will be granted after the deadline.
