Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Eying cleanest tag for the eighth time in a row, Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC), on Wednesday, organised Swachhata Jan Samvad (special cleanliness dialogue) with a focus on the active participation of hostels, coaching institutes and PG operators. The event aimed to bolster the Swachhata Abhiyan by involving these key stakeholders in the city’s cleanliness drive.
The programme saw attendance from various hostels, coaching institutes, and PG operators. Additional commissioner Abhilash Mishra provided detailed insights into the significance of cleanliness and the critical role that these institutions play in sustaining a clean environment.
In a collective commitment to cleanliness, participants took an oath to uphold cleanliness practices. The dialogue also highlighted the importance of water conservation, respectful cooperation with sanitation workers and active participation in climate initiatives.
Pointers
* Operators were urged to implement effective waste segregation methods by using wet and dry dustbins in all rooms with an additional bin for sanitary waste in girls’ hostels
* Institutions were encouraged to educate students about proper waste disposal, the importance of using toilets and urinals and avoiding open defecation
* Operators were reminded to use the 311 App for reporting cleanliness issues and to foster a culture of cleanliness both within and around their premises
