Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A 15-year-old girl from Sardarpur underwent a successful surgery at MTH Hospital, Indore. Doctors removed an 8 kg tumor from her abdomen. She had been suffering from severe stomach pain for a long time. When the pain worsened, her father, Prakash Parmar, took her to the hospital.
A team led by Dr. Sumitra Yadav diagnosed a massive ovarian tumor measuring 36×12×24 cm. The girl was struggling to breathe and move due to the tumor’s size. MRI scans confirmed the severity of the condition. Given her young age and low hemoglobin levels, the surgery was risky but necessary.
Dr. Yadav and her team, including Dr. Vibhag Moses, Dr. Surbhi Porwal, Dr. Sapna Chourasia, Dr. Jhalak, Dr. Neelam, Dr. Shilpi, Dr. Nisha, Dr. Yashasvi, Dr. Shalini Jain, Dr. Parul Jain, Dr. R.S. Gill, Dr. Sudeep, and Dr. Kirti, performed the complex operation. Radiologist Dr. Vivek also played a key role. The girl’s family said they struggled to find treatment due to financial constraints.
Many hospitals refused to admit her. It took them two months to reach MTH Hospital. The tumor occupied almost her entire abdomen. Doctors had to remove it carefully without puncturing it. The surgery was successful, and she was discharged on Tuesday. Her family expressed deep gratitude to the medical team for saving her life.
