Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The Indore Development Authority (IDA) has initiated a large-scale survey across all its schemes to enhance revenue collection and reclaim encroached land. This move aims to ensure the effective utilisation of its properties and generate funds for new development projects.

The survey is focused on identifying unauthorised occupations and assessing the current status of land under IDA’s jurisdiction, said officials. Officials have been instructed to conduct a detailed inspection of lands that have not yet been developed or auctioned.

The authority believes that by removing encroachments and systematically auctioning these properties, it can secure higher revenue and allocate resources for future infrastructure projects. A recent board meeting of the IDA emphasised the need for systematic land management, with clear directives to reclaim properties under unauthorised possession.

Based on the survey results, IDA will prioritise the auctioning process to generate significant revenue. This will enable the authority to fund various upcoming projects and ensure planned urban development of Indore. The auctioning process for certain schemes has already begun, with IDA ensuring transparency in land allocation.

Officials are closely monitoring the process to ensure efficient land utilisation, added IDA officials. With this approach, the IDA aims to maximise its land assets while ensuring that encroachments do not hinder urban development. The initiative is expected to provide a major financial boost, allowing IDA to execute larger projects in the near future, officials concluded.
