Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Indore Crime Branch has arrested five drug peddlers in two separate operations as part of its ongoing crackdown on narcotics. Officials seized MD drugs and 11.7 kilograms of ganja from the accused. Cases have been registered under the NDPS Act.
Police are now questioning all five suspects to trace the drug supply chain. DCP Tripathi assured that strict action against drug peddling will continue in the city.
Case 1
Acting on a tip-off, DCP (Crime) Rajesh Tripathi deployed two teams to Tighariya Badshah area, where a drug deal was reportedly taking place. When the police reached the spot, two men sitting inside a black car tried to flee.
The police surrounded the vehicle and caught the suspects. They were identified as Zafar Pathan, a resident of Noorani Nagar, and Mohammad Irfan from Nihalpura. On searching the car, police found over 50 grams of MD drugs. The two were reportedly planning to sell the drugs.
Case 2
In a separate operation, another Crime Branch team intercepted three men near the Super Corridor. The accused—Shanu alias Vikas Sen (from Bakhatgarh, Badnawar), Ajay Singh Devda, and Sujal Gurjar (from Lavkush Square)—were found with 11.7 kilograms of ganja in their vehicle. They had brought the contraband from outside Indore and were preparing to sell it in the city.
