Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In a move to uphold administrative efficiency and transparency, Commissioner Shivam Verma took strict action against negligence in the compassionate appointment process during public hearing on Tuesday.
During the hearing, applicant Kavita Pankaj Dholpure presented her grievance stating that she had been making repeated visits to the Health Department for a compassionate appointment following the demise of her husband, late corporation employee Pankaj Dholpure. However, her application was consistently ignored, and no progress was made.
Official of the Health Service Unit reprimanded
Upon hearing her plight, Verma reprimanded Rajesh Karosia of the Health Service Unit for undue delay and negligence. In a decisive action, Karosia was suspended immediately. Simultaneously, deputy commissioner of Health Department SK Sagar was directed to issue compassionate appointment order without any further delay. As a result, the order was processed and handed over to Kavita Pankaj Dholpure within just three hours. Moved by the swift resolution, Kavita expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the commissioner.
Special campaign for pending compassionate appointments
Recognising the need for efficiency in handling similar cases, Verma announced a special campaign to resolve all pending applications related to compassionate appointments. He directed the officials concerned to expedite the process and ensure timely issuance of appointment letters in accordance with regulations.
Verma shows dedication, wins applicant’s heart
In a display of dedication and public service, commissioner Shivam Verma took direct action to resolve a citizen’s issue during his inspection of development works in Silicon City on Tuesday. Accompanied by additional commissioner Rohit Sisonia, executive engineer Vivesh Jain and other officials, Verma demonstrated an exceptional level of engagement with the public.
During the inspection, Verma encountered Mukesh Sharma, a resident of Palash Complex Rau. Sharma told Verma that he was going to meet him in public hearing at IMC to appraise him about his grievance.
Rather than directing him to the scheduled public hearing, the commissioner asked Sharma to tell him his grievance at the inspection site itself. After listening to him, the commissioner directed officials to take immediate action on his grievance.
Sharma said that it would have taken a drive of 15 kilometres from his residence to IMC headquarters to attend the public hearing. “The commissioner obliged me by accepting my application at the inspection site,” he said.
