IndiGo Airlines, the privately held airline owned by Interglobe Aviation, is the largest airline in India. It now also has the distinction of being one of the worst airlines in the world.

IndiGo, The Worst?

This is not a rival airline that has made this claim, but AirHelp Inc., an online service that allows passengers to seek compensation in the circumstance of flight cancellations, delays, or overbookings.

The agency after processing customer claims on various facets from outside data tracking on-time arrival and departure, quality of food, comfort and efficiency of crew service from 54 countries, arrived at this conclusion, that IndiGo ranked among the worst airlines, occupying the 103rd position.

Conflcit-ridden Tunisia-based Tunisair was deemed as the worst airline in the world, as per their ranking. On the other hand, Belgium-based Brussels Airlines was deemed as the best airline in the world.

IndiGo Shares Dip

Talking about the shares of IndiGo, the low-cost airline’s shares vaciliated in the early half of the day’s trade. The airline’s shares dropped beyond 1 per cent.

However, it recovered a little, before it eventually lost more of its value. At the time of writing, the shares of IndiGo dipped by 0.86 per cent or Rs 37.80. This took the overall value of the company shares to Rs 4,333.05 per piece. The airline has declined by 0.50 per cent in the past 5 trading sessions.

IndiGo Refutes Claims

The airline on its side issued a statement expressing doubts over the credibility of IndiGo and refuted these claims.

While speaking to the news agency PTI, the airline said, “The data published in the survey does not report the sample size from India, and neither takes into account the methodology or compensation guidelines used by the global aviation industry.” In the process, the airline cast aspersions on the ratings.
