IndiGo Announces New Direct Flight From Mumbai To Seychelles At Lower Cost Than Air Seychelles | File Pic (Representational Image)
Mumbai: Low cost Indian carrier IndiGo announced the launch of direct flights from Mumbai to Seychelles, which will operate four flights every week between Mumbai and Seychelles.

On Friday, IndiGo announced a direct flight between Mumbai and Seychelles International Airport in Mahe, effective from March 22. The newly announced flight ‘6E 1855’ departing from Mumbai at 7.20am will reach Seychelles at 10.35am. On the other hand the return flight ‘6E 1856’ will depart from Seychelles at 6.15pm and reach Mumbai at 12.35am. These flights will fly will be operated on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
This announcement has brought IndiGo in direct competition with Air Seychelles, which until now was the only airline providing direct flight between Mumbai and Seychelles. The national airline of the Republic of Seychelles operates one weekly flight between both the cities on every Saturdays. However, the new flight from IndiGo fares at Rs15,000 against Air Seychelles’ fare starting from Rs21,800.
With the launch of its new direct flight, IndiGo now serves at 39 international destinations from India. In 2024, This addition is a part of IndiGo’s announcement of launching seven new international destinations. Seychelles is the sixth destination on the list after Langkawi and Mauritius flights from Bangalore, Jaffna and Penang flights from Chennai and Medina from Hyderabad.
