Singapore: Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong praised the contribution of Indians in the upliftment of Singapore. Significantly, in the 2020 elections, Wong’s People’s Action Party (PAP) fielded 27 new faces. But not a single of them was of Indian ethnicity. After this, discussion on this matter started in the Parliament of Singapore. Along with this, China’s increasing aggression in the entire southeast Asia, especially on the South China Sea, has worried all the countries of the region. On the other hand, India’s contribution to the survey, whether it is a tsunami or earthquake in Myanmar, is not only noted by the governments of those countries but also by the general public. In such circumstances, South-East Asian countries including Indonesia have turned to India.

In a conversation with Indian youth in Singapore, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong said, “You (Indian) can be a small community.” But your impact in the development of Singapore is not less at all.

Singapore’s newspaper The Straits Times quoted Wong’s words. In which he said, “In fact, I would say that all of you already reflect the feelings of Singapore.” Your story is the story of Singapore. Along with this, he appreciated the contribution made by Indians in many areas including trade, industry and government in Singapore and said that our party will field Indian candidates in the upcoming elections.

However, former chairman of the agency for Integrated Care, Dinesh Vasudas, the legal firm Tito Isaq & Company partner Kavalpal Singh, the trade union leader Jagatishwar Rajo and the Indian orthopedic surgeon Hamid Rajad are already famous in Singapore.

According to the famous Singapore newspaper The Straits Times, by 2024, the number of Indians in the population of Singapore will be only 7.6 percent. While Malaysian will be 15.1 percent. Thus sugar is 75.6 percent. Thus, despite the fact that Indians of foreign origin living in Singapore are the lowest percentage of Indians, they have made the most important contribution in the development of Singapore in areas ranging from business to social service.

The Minister of State for Digital Development and Information of Singapore, Janil Puthucherry, who belongs to Indian origin, was also present in the meeting of the Prime Minister of Singapore with youth of Indian origin. He also interacted with about 130 Indian youth present in the program.
