The Indian women’s cricket team won the three-match ODI series against Ireland 3-0 on Wednesday. In the third and final match, India not only scored its biggest score but also registered its biggest win. In this match played in Rajkot, India scored 435/5 and hoisted the winning flag by defeating Ireland by 304 runs.

India was captained by star opener Smriti Mandhana in this series, as regular captain Harmanpreet Kaur was rested. After defeating Ireland in the series, Mandhana also followed the tradition of former captains Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Rohit Sharma and handed over the trophy to the young players.

While receiving the winning trophy, Mandhana handed over the trophy to young all-rounder Sayali Satghare, who was in her debut series. Sayali’s celebration after receiving the trophy was worth watching. BCCI shared the video of this moment on social media, on which cricket fans have given positive reactions. One user wrote, “Giving the trophy to a young player is amazing,” while another said, “Captain Smriti Mandhana handing over the trophy and then the celebration of the players was priceless.”

In the third ODI, the brilliant batting of Mandhana and opener Pratika Raval caught everyone’s attention. Mandhana scored 135 runs in 80 balls with 12 fours and 7 sixes, making her the fastest Indian woman cricketer to score a century. He made a partnership of 233 runs for the first wicket with Pratika. Pratika contributed by scoring 154 runs in 129 balls. In reply, Ireland were all out for only 131 runs in 31.4 overs while chasing the huge target.
