An Indian student and three other foreign students have filed a case in the US state of Michigan against the cancellation of their student visa (F-1). These include Chinmay Devre from India, two students from China Jiangyun Bu and Q Yang and Yogesh Joshi from Nepal.

These students say that the US Home Safety Department (DHS) and the Department of Immigration (ICE) have canceled their visas without giving any information and without giving any valid reasons. He has filed a case against this in court.

Learn about the case in detail.

These four students, who went to the US to study in the US, have told the court that their student visa was suddenly canceled, but they were neither given any notice nor any reason before that. He says that he has not committed any crime nor violated immigration rules. He never participated in any political activity. Students also said that some had only received a minor traffic invoice or warning, but such cases cannot be considered as a reason for cancellation of visa.

ACLU’s statement released

The American Civil Liberty Union of Michigan (ACLU), who is helping the students, has said that this step of the government is wrong and illegal. ACLU lawyer Ramis Vadood said in the case that such strict and wrong policies of the government not only affect the lives of students but also weakens the American education system.

He said that if such incidents continue, international students will be afraid to study in America in future. ACLU said that such cases of sudden cancellation of visa are not limited to Michigan, but such cases have also come up in states like New Hampshire, Indiana and California and similar cases have been registered there.

Questions raised on Trump’s policies

This issue has come to light at a time when thousands of international students studying in America are facing difficulties due to strict immigration policies of Trump administration. Many students’ visas have been canceled without any notice or they are receiving exile notices, which is adversely affecting their studies. They fear that their country will be destroyed.
