Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said in the Rajya Sabha on Monday (March 17) that the passenger fare of Indian Railways is much lower than not only in neighboring countries, but also in Western countries. During the discussion in the upper house on railway works, he said that the rail fare in western countries is 10-15% higher than India, but Indian Railways is committed to providing safe and quality travel facilities at a low price.
