Families of Indian cricket players for the Champions Trophy will not go together this time, as the BCCI’s new travel policy is being implemented for the first time through this tournament. The Indian team has to play their first match against Bangladesh in Dubai on 20 February, followed by Pakistan on 23 February. The match played against New Zealand will be held on 2 March.

Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, the Indian team will play all the matches in Dubai, while the rest of the tournament will start in three cities of Pakistan from February 19. The Champions Trophy final will be held on March 9, that is, the tour will be less than three weeks, and according to the BCCI, the family of players will not be allowed to travel during this time.

According to the BCCI’s new policy, the players’ family will be allowed to accompany them for a maximum of two weeks on 45 days or longer.

A BCCI source told PTI, “If something changes, the matter is different, but at the moment the players’ families are not allowed to go along.” A senior player asked about this, but he was told that the new policy would be followed. ”

The BCCI policy states, “When staying on a foreign tour for 45 days or more, the player’s wife and children under 18 years of age can accompany them for a maximum of two weeks. If you have to go out of this policy, then permission will have to be obtained from coach, captain and GM operations. The BCCI will not bear the expenses for this period. ”
