The ships were involved in illegal activities including drug trafficking. Responding to the warning, INS Tarakash changed its way to stop the ships. The Ministry of Defense said that after appropriate interrogation of all suspected ships, INS Tarakash stopped the ship due to coordinated efforts with the sea -operating center in Mumbai. Additionally, the ship sent its integral helicopter to monitor the activities of the suspected ship and identify other such ships in the area.
