A video of an Indian man coming across an eatery selling dishes prepared with snake meat has surfaced online. Instagrammer Akash Chaudhary shared the video of a person at a roadside stall chopping down a cobra to consume it as food. The stall listed down a variety of dishes sourced out of cobra, including cobra blood, dry bile, noodle-like snake meat-based recipes, and more.
However, the eatery was located not in India but Indonesia.
It was during a trip to Jakarta that the Indian vlogger spotted this roadside stall offering snake meat-based dishes to people, which left him shocked.
He recorded a video to show viewers about Indonesia food stalls butchering cobras to eat them, leading to an outrage on social media.

“This man makes barbeque of live cobra”, Akash said while filming the visuals from the eatery on camera. Speaking to the cook, he learned that one cobra was priced for 1,000 INR (Two lakh Indonesian rupee). “I have never seen such a dangerous market in my life”, he added.
Akash condemned the practice in the video by saying, “These people eat cobras believing that it adds strength to their body. But probably they haven’t seen good physique people from our Haryana or UP”.
He uploaded the video with the caption “Cobra pakode”. Desi netizens who watched the video were both upset and angry with the cook killing live cobras. Reflecting on the significance of cobras in Hindu mythology, as it is associated with Lord Shiva, people dropped “Har har Mahadev” chants in the comments section.
