Content creator reveals how his friend used balcony as fridge in Canada; video goes viral | Instagram@yaaar_kabir

The question of spending on a refrigerator in regions which experience snowfall and extreme cold weather seems valid. An Instagram user revealed how his Gujarati friend saved on an electricity bill during winter in Canada. He stated that his friend didn’t store things inside his fridge and placed all items outside his balcony, where the weather was conducive enough to preserve the items.

The video opened with Kabir saying, “Canada desh hai mehnga par hum hai Gujarati. Duniya ko idhar udhar hone denge par budget ko nahi (Canada is an expensive country, but we are Gujaratis. We can shake the world but not let anything go wrong with our budget)”.

Kabir claimed this his friend would have adopted this ‘jugaad’ to cut down electricity charges on the fridge. He pointed out that the temperature outside was minus degrees Celsius, where food items could easily be stored.

Milk stored in open at -15 degree Celsius

When Kabir was looking for milk, his friend informed him it was not in the fridge but kept in the balcony. This stunned Kabir and made him record this reel.

He filmed after discovering how his mate had smartly used the balcony space as a refrigerator. The video showed milk cartons and leftovers stored in the open, at -15 degree Celsius.
