Taste Atlas, the online food ranking platform, has revealed the “100 Best Cuisines in the World” list for 2024, and unfortunately, India didn’t make it to the top 10. Renowned for its rich spices and diverse flavours, Indian cuisine bagged the 12th spot on the list.
This global ranking honours the best food cultures worldwide, considering taste, variety, and international influence. While India proudly secures a spot in the top 15, it falls behind some global culinary giants. Check who made it to the top!
Which is the number one cuisine in the world?
This year, the number one best cuisine in the world is secured by Greek food. Greece is well-known for its premium dairy products, honey, and olive oils. Italian cuisine comes second thanks to classic dishes like Parmigiano Reggiano and Pizza Napoletana. The nation has a rich culinary heritage, superb olive oils, and chocolates. Mexican eatery comes in third place. It is renowned for its distinctive cheeses, spirits, and lively dining scene.

Despite having the same score, Spanish and Portuguese cuisine tied for fourth and fifth place, respectively, on the list. Chinese, Japanese, French, Indonesian, and Turkish food rounded up the Top 10 after them. Followed by Polish food in the 11th rank, and Indian cuisine came in at number twelve.
