Indian cricketer and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant, who met with a life-threatening accident on the Delhi-Dehradun highway two years ago, has expressed his gratitude to two youths who helped him during the critical moments following the mishap. As a token of appreciation, Pant gifted scooters to Rajat and Nishu, residents of Buchcha Basti village in Purkaji, who were instrumental in ensuring he received timely medical assistance.

A video of the gifted scooters being handed over has gone viral on social media platform X, with the two youths expressing their heartfelt thanks to the cricketer.

The accident occurred on December 30, 2022, when Pant was driving late at night from Delhi to his hometown Roorkee in his Mercedes car to meet his mother. Near the Narsan police post on the Delhi-Dehradun highway, the car crashed, leaving the cricketer with severe injuries. It was Rajat and Nishu who came to his rescue, helping him reach the hospital without delay.

Pant’s Management Coordinates the Gesture
Rajat Kumar shared that he received a call from Pant’s management informing him of the gift. “The next day, both scooters were delivered to our village. We are overwhelmed by this gesture,” he said. Both youths expressed their happiness and gratitude to Pant for remembering their contribution.

Pant’s Remarkable Recovery and Return
Following the accident, there were serious concerns about Pant’s survival and career. However, the cricketer defied all odds, showcasing immense courage and determination during his recovery. Over the course of one and a half years, Pant not only recovered but also made a stellar comeback to cricket.

On August 7, 2024, he returned to the field in an ODI match against Sri Lanka. Pant is currently part of the series against Australia and continues to demonstrate his exceptional talent. Recently, he was also recognized as the most expensive player in the IPL, further solidifying his reputation as one of the most gifted cricketers in the game.

Pant’s story of resilience and gratitude has inspired fans across the country, with this act of kindness towards the two Good Samaritans further endearing him to the public.
