India suspended Indus Water Treaty, made three level strategies to stop water to Pakistan

India has taken a big step in response to the Pahalgam terror attack by Pakistan -based terrorists. Government of 1960 Indus Water Treaty (Indus Waters Treaty), suspending the water of Indus river, has been banned from sending water to Pakistan. India clarified that now not a single drop of Indus river will be wasted and neither will be given to Pakistan.

Water power minister CR Patil Informed that concrete arrangements will be made for conservation and use of water. Under this, the government has made short -term, medium period and long -term plans at three levels. According to sources, the capacity of dams present along the rivers of the Indus basin will be increased so that more water can be stored.

Government sent formal notification sent to Pakistan

The Government of India has also issued a formal notification to implement the Indus Water Treaty suspension, which was handed over to Pakistan. This notification states that now all treaty obligations like meeting, data sharing and informing new projects have been effectively suspended between the Indus Commissioners of the two countries.

The government letter clearly stated that, “Any treaty is based on goodwill, but Pakistan has targeted Jammu and Kashmir by promoting terrorism from across the border. In such a situation, India has to take this drastic step in compulsion.”

Pakistan’s response

Pakistan has rejected India’s move and rejected it. Pakistan warned that under the treaty, it would consider any step to stop its water flow as a “action action”. Explain that the agreement was reached between India and Pakistan on the Indus Water Treaty in 1960, which was aimed at resolving disputes regarding the water management of across the border rivers.
