Bangladesh U19 beat India U19 by 59 runs to win the Men’s U-19 Asia Cup in Dubai on Sunday for the second time. The Boys in blue were bundled out for 139 runs while chasing 199 runs for victory. Bangladesh had come into the tournament as the defending champion.

Earlier India U-19 bowlers put up a disciplined show as they restricted Bangladesh U-19 to 198 all out in 49.1 overs. Yudhajit Guha, Chetan Sharma and Kiran Chormale picked two wickets apiece. For Bangladesh Md Rizan Hossan hit 47 for Bangladesh while Mohammad Shihab James also contributed with a crucial 40-run knock.

India lost openers Ayush Mhatre and Vaibhav Suryavanshi cheaply. Indian batters kept nicking to deliveries bowled outside off stump and at one stage, India were reduced to 92/7. Al fahad and Maruf Mridha picked the openers and built pressure for the middle order, who eventually succumbed to it

India captain Mohamed Amaan tried his best to put up a spirited show but his departure closed all the gates towards recovery. For Bangladesh Iqbal Hossain Emon and Azizul Hakim picked up three wickets apiece.

India U19, the eight-time champions, stormed into the finals with a commanding 7-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in the semi-finals. Meanwhile, defending champions Bangladesh U19 showcased their brilliance with a 7-wicket triumph over Pakistan, setting up a thrilling repeat of their 2023 heroics.
