On May 9, the government agency CCPA issued some rules for 13 online shopping platforms including Amazon and Flipkart. These rules are very important in the present situation. The government has asked these companies to stop selling illegal walkie-talkie. According to a report, the government has said that the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has sent a notice to 13 major online marketplace to stop selling walkie-talkie illegally on its websites.

Companies to which the government has sent notices include Amazon, Flipkart, Misho, OLX, Tradindia, Facebook, Indiamart, Vardert, Varadrmart, Geomart, Krishnamart, Chimiya, Talk Pro Walky Talky and Maskman Toys. The government has sent notices to these companies to stop selling walkie-talkie illegally.
This action focuses on the sale of the walkie-talkies that do not know the correct frequency, not licensed, or who do not have the required government approval (equipment type approval-ETA). All this is a violation of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. The government has sent this notice keeping these rules and safety of citizens in mind.
Union Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi said that the sale of illegal wireless equipment is not only a violation of the law, but can also pose a big threat to national security. He said that this violation is a violation of many laws including Consumer Protection Act, Telegraph Act and Wireless Telegraphs Act. Due to which companies can be punished.
