Mumbai: India has a population of more than one billion. This means that India has more than one billion stories. Inaugurating the World View and Entertainment Summit in Mumbai today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that on the basis of these stories, materials should be prepared from India for the whole world.
Addressing the heads of artists, content creators and media companies from more than 100 countries around the world, he said that the media and entertainment sector would contribute significantly to India’s GDP in the coming years. Our mission is to make India the center of filmmaking, digital content manufacturing, gaming, music and fashion industry. He said that technology is dominating human life and at this time creative people should make the world more emotional through music, dance and story. Human beings should not become a robot. He said that we should make them more sensitive. The screen is getting smaller but its reach is increasing.
He said that today the world is looking for new ways of telling the story. At such a time, India has a treasure of thousands of years old countless stories. This treasure should be brought to the world. These stories should be told in a more interesting and new way to the new generation. There are more than six lakh villages in India. Every village has its own stories.
The opening ceremony was inaugurated by Oscar winning composer MM. The hymns of the Rigveda were performed by Kirwani through singing. Singers including Shreya Ghoshal lent their voice.
Celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Rajinikanth, Anil Kapoor, Hema Malini and Anupam Kher gave brief speeches at the inauguration ceremony. After this, various discussion sessions were held throughout the day.
