New Delhi: Participating in the Raisina dialogue held here, the Foreign Minister of the Philippines Enrich Menna Low said that the Bharat-Filippines BrahMos missile deal is an important step in the defense relations between the two countries. Speaking about these agreements, he said that these agreements are becoming guides for cooperation between the two countries in various defense areas.

These agreements will pave the way for defense equipment, defense cooperation, training and exchange of senior officials and development of operations between the two countries.

This supersonic missile, developed in collaboration with Russia, is named after the Brahmaputra River and Moscow River. Also, this name reminds us of the word Brahmastra mentioned in Puranas and epics.

Earlier, Enriko Manalo on Monday interacted with members of the Commerce and Industry Federation of India (FICCI). FICCI President Harshvardhan Aggarwal in his speech called for increasing trade between the two countries.

China’s increasing aggression in the South China Sea has created great difficulties for the Philippines. Chinese warships are circling the continental shelf near the Philippines. It can be understood that the Philippines will be keen to make a defense agreement with India, as in such a situation its coast Guard ships will do water showers on the ships of the Philippines.

The Indian Air Force has already sent a batch of BrahMos missiles via American-made C-17 Globmaster aircraft. In addition to a battery assigned to the Philippine Marine Core, three more batteries are also to be sent. Therefore, the Philippines will be able to adequately defend yourself from regional threats.
