Cricket teams of India and England supported the ‘Anga Donation, Save Jeevan’ initiative in the third ODI played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. The players of both the teams got into the field by tying a green bandage on the arm as a symbol of this awareness campaign.

Awareness initiative from BCCI

The BCCI issued an official statement after the match started, stating that the initiative has been started under the leadership of ICC Chairman Jai Shah. On Monday, Jai Shah announced this initiative and wrote on X (East Twitter):

“The power of sports enables us to inspire, connect and leave positive effects outside the field. Through this campaign, we urge everyone to give the biggest gift – the gift of life. A pledge, a decision, can save many lives. Let’s come together and bring change. “

Indian players supported

The campaign was supported by many Indian cricketers, including Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul.

  • Virat Kohli:

“Make the biggest century! Your organs can help others live even after your lifetime. Become an organ donor and make every life important. “

  • Shubman Gill:

“Be the captain of life! Just as a captain leads the team towards victory, in the same way you can give life to someone by donating organs. ”

  • Shreyas Iyer:

“One organ donor can save the lives of eight people. Pledge today and hit a six for humanity. “

  • KL Rahul:

“Play the biggest victorious shot! The decision to donate your limbs can become a ‘match-winning moment’ of one’s life. Become a hero outside the field too. “

Social messages through sports

This is the first time that the Indian Cricket Board has launched such a big awareness campaign about organ donation during an international match. With this support of cricketers, it is expected that this initiative will make people aware of organ donation across the country and more and more people will participate in this noble work.
