SAFF U-19 Championship: The Indian Under-19 football team performed brilliantly and defeated Bangladesh and won the SAFF Under-19 championship. The Indian team retained the title by winning the penalty shootout 4-3. By regular time the match was 1–1, for which penalty shootouts had to be resorted to.
The Saif Under-19 final was very exciting. Indian captain Sigmam Shami scored a goal in the second minute of the final match played in Arunachal Pradesh.
