In an unprecedented move, the Opposition’s INDIA Bloc on Tuesday moved a no-confidence motion against Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar.

While the Opposition parties have not officially commented on the motion against the Rajya Sabha chairman, it has been reported that the motion was moved with the signatures of 65 MPs.

The motion by Opposition parties is expected to yield no results as they lack the majority required to get it passed in the Upper House of Parliament as well as in the Lok Sabha.

The Opposition leaders have accused the Rajya Sabha Chairman of being partial and not allowing them the opportunity to speak in the House through the presiding officer.

Today, proceeding of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha was adjourned for the day after unruly scenes broke out during the proceedings. Members of Parliament from both the opposition and treasury benches exchanged heated remarks, leading to a disruption in the day’s schedule.
