Hamirpur, 26 November (HS). On Tuesday, when the city CDPO came to investigate the relocation of the Anganwadi center operated in Ward No. 6 Pant Nagar of Sumerpur town, the councilor representative abused the investigating officer and chased him away. Frightened by the actions of the council representative, the investigating officer ran away from the spot to save her life and after reaching the headquarters, sent a letter to the District Magistrate besides the DPO, demanding action against the council representative.
The councilor of Ward No. 6 Pant Nagar of Sumerpur town had demanded to move the Anganwadi worker’s center from home and operate it at a public place. The DPO had handed over the investigation of the transfer to city in-charge CDPO Shashiprabha. On Tuesday at 10 am, the in-charge CDPO reached the ward and sent assistant Shakeela Bano to call the councilor. On the spot, his representative and other family members came in place of the councilor and started abusing without thinking anything. On being refused, he became enraged and targeted not only the Anganwadi worker but also the investigating officer. The investigating officer got frightened by this and ran away from the spot to save her life.
After reaching the headquarters, he sent a letter to the in-charge CDPO, District Magistrate and DPO demanding action. DPO Shailendra Pratap said that the council representative had misbehaved with the investigating officer. A letter has been sent to the District Magistrate for action. Here, on receiving information about this matter, the police arrested the councilor and two people from the Anganwadi working party and took action for disturbing the peace. Police Station Head Anoop Singh said that action for breach of peace has been taken against Praveen Kumar, Ankit Kumar of one party and Suresh Kumar and Sunil Kumar of the other party. The complaint has not been received yet. On receiving the complaint, a case will be registered and legal action will be taken.
