The Indian team led by Rohit Sharma made a clean sweep 3–0 in the three-match ODI series against England. India defeated England by 142 runs in the third ODI played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.

Gill’s brilliant century, Kohli-Ayyar’s strong performance

Batting first after losing the toss, India scored 356 runs in 50 overs and were all out.

  • Shubman Gill scored 112 runs (102 balls, 14 fours, 3 sixes), hitting the seventh ODI century.
  • Virat Kohli (52 runs, 55 balls, 7 fours, 1 six) and Shreyas Iyer (78 runs, 64 balls, 8 fours, 2 sixes) scored half -centuries.
  • Gill and Kohli shared a 116 -run partnership, while Gill and Iyer played a 104 -run partnership.
  • KL Rahul (40), Hardik Pandya (17), Washington Sundar (14) and Akshar Patel (13) also made useful contribution.
  • Captain Rohit Sharma (1) was dismissed cheaply.

England batting collapsed, India bowlers burnt

Chasing a target of 357 runs, the England team was reduced to 214 runs in 34.2 overs.

  • For England, Tom Banton (38), Gus Atkinson (38), Ben Docket (34) and Phil Salat (23) could score a few runs.
  • Captain Jose Butler (6) and Liam Livingstone (9) flopped.
  • For India, Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, Akshar Patel and Hardik Pandya took two wickets each.
  • Washington Sundar and Kuldeep Yadav got one wicket each.

India occupies series, now preparations for Champions Trophy

With this victory, India registered a 3–0 historic victory in the series. This was the last ODI match of the two teams before the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. India is now fully prepared for the Champions Trophy starting on February 19.
