The fight between Indian batsman Virat Kohli and Kangaroo opener Sam Constance in the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia made a lot of headlines. Seeing the dispute increasing between the two players, Australia’s opener Usman Khawaja came in between and umpire Michael Gough pacified both of them completely. Now the statement of Australia’s legendary captain Ricky Ponting has come to light in this matter.

Ponting accused the player

Ponting believes Virat Kohli should be blamed for his on-field fight with Sam Constance during the Boxing Day Test. On this matter, Ponting said that Virat started the fight and he has no doubt about it.

Collision between Kohli-Contas

In the match, Constance was not affected by Virat’s sharp comments and he continued playing. Apart from veteran bowler Jasprit Bumrah, he also faced Mohammad Siraj boldly in the match and scored a lot of runs. When runs were coming off his bat and there was nothing left in Team India’s favour, Kohli decided to face Constas.

Kohli got angry on Constas’ talk

While changing sides after the end of the 10th over, Virat hit the ball on Constas’ shoulder. Here Constas did not respond to Virat physically, but said some words to him, due to which he got angry. After this, the altercation continued between the two players for some time.

I like to compete- Kontas

However, Constance seemed quite happy with the whole affair. He did not complain about sledging by Kohli or any Indian fielder in the first session of the Boxing Day Test. ‘Whatever happens on the field should be kept on the field,’ he told the commentators during a drinks break. I like to compete.
