The price of LPG cylinder has been increased. The government has increased the price of 14 kg domestic LPG gas cylinder by Rs 50. After this, the price of LPG cylinder received under the Ujjwala scheme will increase from Rs 503 to Rs 553 and the price of LPG cylinder besides the Ujjwala scheme will increase from Rs 803 to Rs 853.
According to Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh, this decision has been taken due to increase in prices internationally. That is why the central government has decided to increase the price of LPG by Rs 50. We have made good progress in terms of domestic gas and the Ujjwala scheme is also getting good response. About 10 crore people are taking advantage of the Ujjwala scheme, which has given mothers and sisters to get rid of stove smoke.
It is noteworthy that under the Ujjwala scheme, free LPG cylinders are provided to poor women. So that they can get rid of kerosene -powered primus and smoke emanating from stoves.
