In 1st Decision As Maharashtra CM, Devendra Fadnavis Provides Rs 5L Financial Aid To Patient; Assures Stable Govt For Next 5 Years |
Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis marked his return to office with a compassionate act by approving financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh for a Pune-based patient in urgent need of a bone marrow transplant. This decision was the first official file signed by Fadnavis after taking the oath of office earlier in the day. The aid was requested by the patient, Chandrakant Kurhade’s wife from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
Following this act, Fadnavis chaired his inaugural cabinet meeting, setting the tone for his leadership. “In the last 2.5 years, we have worked for the development of Maharashtra and from here too we will work for the development of Maharashtra and we will not stop now, the direction and speed is the same, only our roles have changed… We will take decisions for the betterment of Maharashtra. We want to complete the works that we mentioned in our manifesto,” said Fadnavis while assuring a stable government for the next five years.
Fadnavis, aged 54, took the oath as Maharashtra’s Chief Minister for the third time, signalling a robust return to power. Joining him were Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, who assumed roles as Deputy Chief Ministers.
The swearing-in ceremony held at Azad Maidan in Mumbai was a grand affair, attended by prominent political leaders, industry titans and Bollywood celebrities. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with key Union ministers Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, and Rajnath Singh, graced the occasion.
The ceremony saw the presence of Chief Ministers from various NDA-ruled states, including Yogi Adityanath (Uttar Pradesh), Pushkar Singh Dhami (Uttarakhand), Nayab Singh Saini (Haryana), Bhupendra Patel (Gujarat), Pramod Sawant (Goa), Himanta Biswa Sarma (Assam), Vishnu Deo Sai (Chhattisgarh), Bhajanlal Sharma (Rajasthan), Mohan Charan Majhi (Odisha), Pema Khandu (Arunachal Pradesh), N Biren Singh (Manipur) and Manik Saha (Tripura) attended the ceremony.
Several opposition leaders, including Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar, were notably absent despite receiving invitations. Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit-Nene, along with cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar added a touch of glamour to the event, while industrialists such as Mukesh Ambani, Noel Tata and Kumarmangalam Birla also attended the grand ceremony.
